FEENI’S FINEST serums are inspired by and named after my mother and namesake Margaret Ophelia Haven, known lovingly by family members as Feeni. Growing up it was mama's determination, follow through, courage, and creativity that gave us strength. In 2012, after my mother passed, I put in motion my longtime dream of launching a product line to honor her greatness. On December 4, 2016 the anniversary of her birth FEENI'S FINEST Home Spa Botanical Serums were made available to the public here on the Savannah Rooted Esty Shop.

Have you tried any dry wash/shampoo products?  I noticed that both Paul Mitchell and TRESemme have dry shampoo products.  How do they work?

Hello Dulce Maria Rose Morales

You can make a profit by considering your

  • Vendor – Raw material cost vary with each vender. The vender price is based on their stock level,  their required profit level, if they have to repack the item , and your requested quantity
  • Percentage of ingredients – The amount of each ingredient you use in the formula. Some ingredients are very expensive thus increasing your cost
  • Packaging  selection– Style and type of material, vender pricing
  • Ingredient Selection -Specialty ingredients i.e. Biotin, Vitamin E are very expensive
  • Formula development- The art of designing a formula that is stable, cost reasonable  and provides an effective performance
  • Marketing Strategy – A strong marketing strategy will off set your cost
  • Logistic Management – Know what, when and how to buy a particular ingredient
  • Re-investing in your business – Pumping back you money into your business

Generally your start-up cost is the highest cost. This cost is the highest because you have to purchase the total amount (Drum, Pail). However, you may only use a portion of the ingredient in the batch.,,,, Once you have a handle on these items you can definitely make a profit in this business.

Dulce, I am curious concerning the cost examples you provided. Are these cost really examples?  Are these cost close to the amount of money you need to make your product.?

Dear Techee Support,

How do you make a profit? If the cost of making the product is a lot and you can only make a few out of your supplies what should you do? eg. your cost is $500 this only makes 4 products...$500/4=$125 I can't charge $125 each for hair pomade!!!

Yes Elaine that is true. Just pick up any AP (Anatomy and Physiology)
or Botany book and try to say those words!!! For example

Pimemta dioica or officinalis aka –Allspice,

Laurus nobilis  aka Bay Leaf  or

Sphingolipids – This is a class of lipids compounds which play important roles in signal transmission
and cell recognition in the brain

Margaret,

It was a pleasure interviewing you on LYME Live.  Please provide a few examples of simple ingredients with complicated names and dangerous ingredients with simple names.  I have learned from you that sometimes a person can't pronounce the name of an ingredient yet it is all natural and maybe even good for them.
