Moisture is key when doing a silk press. Your hair needs to be properly moisturized before receiving this service. Hair should be shampooed and conditioned using products which will add to the moisture level of the hair. Hydration Steam Therapy is great to help impart moisture to dry, parched hair. Once you've put the moisture in, you want to keep it in the hair. Thermal protectants and other styling aids will protect the hair from the heat when drying and straightening the hair. They will also help seal the cuticle and keep the moisture in the hair. Using the proper tools such as ionic dryers & ceramic or tourmaline irons will also help retain the moisture level in the hair while styling. Check out my page to see before & after pics of actual clients who have had my signature "silk press".
